Gossip Girl's Ed Westwick tells OK! how the cast helped him agjust to life in NYC

Of all the shady, naughty, and downright decadent antics that take place every week on The CW's Gossip Girl, the ones that push the envelope most often have at their center Chuck Bass, played by British actor Ed Westwick. Ed, 20, best buds and roommates with co-star Chace Crawford, spoke to OK! about planting roots in NYC.

How are the love scenes on Gossip Girl?
Leighton [Meester, Blair] and I have kissed, and I've banged into her teeth. I think that hurt her a little bit. I was clumsy!

Chuck's got such colorful costumes.
They're fantastic! It's reflective of Chuck's eccentricity and his personality.

Do you hang out off set?
Yes, we all get on very well. When we first moved for this show, we were thrown together in this big, bad city. I didn't know anybody here. I forged bonds with the people on the show. We got along from the first instance.

Is it hard balancing a relationship and a career?
Work is my focal point right now, but if I met somebody who made me want to put the energy into a relationship, I could find a way.

What do you like in a girl?
Style, being an individual and confidence are attractive.

How has fame changed your life?
It helps me get through airport security a bit quicker! I'm joking. It hasn't really changed anything. We're not on the same level as Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie [laughs].

Do you feel like you've arrived now that you're on Gossip Girl?
I feel like I've arrived-- but I always think I could leave.
